Afternoon tea at the Browns Hotel in London

Outside Brown's hotel

I know - after The Peggy Porschen afternoon tea at The Lanesborough, the afternoon tea I did at home for mothers day and the private afternoon tea at The Dorchester, this is yet another afternoon tea post! What can I say, I like the tradition and I like wafting through hotels; I love how the best ones can transport you somewhere completely magical (there was actually a book on the Four Seasons which made this very point much more eloquently than I currently am). I often book seasonal afternoon teas so brace yourself for a few more of these insights in the future.

In lead up to Christmas 2021, we went to the Browns Hotel nestled in London’s Albemarle Street in Mayfair. It’s one of the most quintessentially British hotels with traditional English interior having hosted a string of famous names throughout History. The festive afternoon tea at The Drawing Room was delightful; with a quirky cocktail of pastries, lovely sandwiches and tea and some of the best scones I’ve had ( I like them soft and buttery, not dry and crumbly as most places do them) this place is worth visiting.

Some of the other best afternoon teas I’ve had were at The Tiffany Blue Box cafe, The Connaught and the very stylish Prêt-à-Portea at The Berkeley). But the service at Brown’s was truly second to none which ultimately made the whole experience memorable, as well the very tasteful Christmas decor…
